Why Does My Neck “Crack” Or Pop During Chiropractic Adjustments?
Sometimes during an adjustment of the neck and spine, you may hear a click or popping sound.

This is totally normal as the cracking noise is merely the excess gas escaping from between the joints as they are manipulated and is known technically as joint ‘cavitation’.

This procedure is harmless and has been performed for thousands of years, going back to the ancient Greeks since at least 1500 B.C. and the Chinese since 2700 B.C.

Spinal manipulation is painless and normally provides patients with immediate relief and of course, is totally safe when conducted by a professional Chiropractor.

However, some people are still fearful of that “cracking” of their spine and for those patients, we offer a range of more conservative manipulation techniques.
These include the Activator method, Thompson
technique and flexion-distraction therapy
to name just a few.
Flexion-distraction therapy
Chiropractic therapy has a range of modalities and it is only after a full examination of the patient that the chiropractor is able to determine which modality is best for that situation.

If you still have some concerns over whether chiropractic is right for you, call us to discuss what problems you are suffering and we can advise you accordingly.

The objective of the professional chiropractor is to have their patients realise their best pain free life.
